Romantic Vegas trip for a couple on a budget! Need advice on where to go to get the most out of our trip! =)

My boyfriend and I are going on a romantic post-anniversary trip to Vegas next weekend. We spent A LOT of money on our room, and rumor has it (cross your fingers for me) that we might be getting engaged, so a lot of our funds are lower than we anticipated... Need some advice on where to go and what to do to get the most out of this memorable weekend. Where's a really romantic, moderately priced place to eat? Where's the best buffet? Where the best casino to gamble at? What shows are best?

The restaurant rotates 360 degrees once per hour - The view from 900ft up is amazing - Make reservations NOW - and make them for 1/2 hour before sunset - The sunset and then the billions of lights on the strip and throughout the valley coming to life make for an awesome sight.





Second choice for a romantic dinner/evening/drink would be, Mon Ami Gabi at Paris - make reservations to sit ';outside'; and make them for after dark - The Fountain of Bellagio are right across the street, and they erupt in an amazing display %26gt;The fountain show begins at 3pm on weekdays and Noon on Sat/Sun and runs every 30 min until 8pm - from 8pm - Midnight the show is every 15 minutes

Fountains of Bellagio - All you need is a blanket, a couple of glasses and a bottle of wine, and you can make your own romantic evening.





Moderate price place to eat


My favorite is the Pullman Grille at Main Street Station

Best casino to gamble - It depends on what you want to play, and at what denomination.


A great place to play low limit table games is the Orleans. If you want to play nickel video poker the best place near the strip is the Las Vegas Hilton, they have 27, 9/6 JOB games in their Super Sports Book(the North end of the casino). The Palms is the best, near the strip if you want to play quarter VP.





The best place to play single zero roulette is the Stratosphere.





If you would like to take a romantic day trip. Mt Charleston - Toiyabe National Forest is only 35 miles North of Las Vegas - Mt Charleston is 12k ft - it's about 30 degrees cooler than LV - they have picnic areas, hiking trails, camping, beautiful old growth forest, etc.

visit the Bellagio to see the fountains so you can kiss %26amp; cuddle in front of the ';lake';. Then go inside and stroll around the inside garden. Taking a walk in front of the Paris hotel especially at night is nice. The Paris hotel has one of the nicest buffets as well. Expensive, but worth it.

Broken down by category for ease:


Sights - Hit all the freebies like the Bellagio Fountains, Treasure Island pirate show, Volcano at Mirage, etc... Also, pay the $10 or whatever it is these days to go up the tower at Paris. Do this at night and at a time when the Bellagio fountains will be going. Also, my wife %26amp; I like making a day of walking one end of the strip to the other. Sometimes that is a little ambitious so you can divide it in to two days pretty easily. If you do all of this via walking you will kill a lot of time and see a lot in between.





Food- The buffet's are easy to figure out. (Generally speaking) the nicer the hotel the better their buffet. The better the buffet the more expensive the buffet. I would recommend Rio, Treasure Island, etc...Bellagio is nicer but also more expensive. Cheap eats can be found at Ellis Island (love this for breakfast and they have the best micro brew in Vegas) and along the strip at places like Denny's %26amp; Chipotle.





Gambling: Downtown has a much bigger variety of inexpensive gambling. On the strip you will want to hit up Casino Royale %26amp; O'Sheas. You'll find some others while you are doing your walking to the various sights.





I'm not up on the shows right now as I haven't done any of them in a couple years. The Cirque du Soleil are always good but most of the BIG shows are expensive.
There is a huge variety in everything, so a budget is very doable. You can easily do a buffet then snack the rest of the day. I strongly recommend the Spice Buffet at PH, it has food from around the world, not your typical buffet. The quality is top notch %26amp; price is reasonable. The Cafe Luxe at Venetian is also great %26amp; prices are like bennigans or applebys. Definately get their choc chip pecan cookies-awesome! As far as romantic meals--any Wolfgang Puck or Emerils are good %26amp; not more than $80 for a top notch treat if you dont drink too much.





Gambling depends on the game. In general, Freemont street is cheaper. Day time (early am) is best for table games as they increase mininums as it gets later. Sahara has $3 BJ durring the week, Tropicana always has $5 tables...





As far as romantic spots, a gondola ride at the Venetian is a must--welll wort the money. A walk through: Paris, Venetian, Caesar's, Bellagio, Wynn is fun %26amp; atmosphere's are great. By the Coke bottle or Fashion show mall are stands for half price same night tickets, I hear they're reputable and a great deal, I haven't used them but know people who have. I saw KA at MGM and loved it. (BTW with Cirq du Soliel, dont get expensive tix, cheap ones are just as good, in general).





But, in all seriousness, enjoy the nice room %26amp; especially if you're getting engaged! :)
